Obituary of Lisa Jayne Young

YOUNG, Lisa Jayne (nee Czarnuch) (Teacher-Durham District School Board) Peacefully, after a lengthy battle with cancer at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, on Monday April 11th 2016 at the age of 39. Beloved wife of Derek. Loving Mommy of Riley. Beloved daughter of Stan and Regina Czarnuch and daughter in law of Al and Bonnie Young. Dear sister of Stephen and his wife Rose. Sister in law of Danny and his partner Bonnie, and Dave and his wife Erica. Cherished granddaughter of Bernice. Lisa will be sadly missed by her friends, extended family and colleagues at Sir William Stephenson Public School in Whitby. Lisa lived to be a mom and playmate to Riley. She will be remembered for her passion for teaching, a lifetime of figure skating, a sports fanatic and longtime supporter of the Denver Bronco’s and Detroit Red Wings, a fashionista, an avid pet lover (Roxie, and Tucker), an entertainer and foodie, traveller, and lover of life and everything that it had to offer. Visitation will be held at the DeStefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive (south side of Taunton Road, east of Thornton Road by the Oshawa Airport) 905-440-3595 on Thursday from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm. A Service to Celebrate Lisa’ Life will be held in the DeStefano Chapel on Friday at 1:00pm. Cremation to follow. In memory of Lisa, donations may be made to Lakeridge Health Foundation-Cancer Care or Breast Cancer Research.
