Passed away peacefully at Hillsdale Estates, Oshawa on Friday, February 22, 2013 at the age of 91.
Predeceased by his wife Anne and his only daughter Carol.
Survived by his son Ron (Barb) and Poppa to Tara (Dejan) and Brad (Alicia). Great Poppa to his two beautiful great granddaughters, Erica Lockey and Mila Knezevic.
Predeceased by his brother Stan and his sisters Helen and Mary. Survived by sisters in law Nancy Lockey and Mary Wysotski as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the caring, compassionate and patient nurses and staff at Hillsdale Estates especially the nurses and staff of "Honey Harbour" where Walt spent his last months.
A private service will be held with the immediate family at DeStefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa, followed by entombment at Resurrection Cemetery, Whitby. If desired, memorial donations could be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, or, the Canadian Kidney Foundation.
