July 29, 1944 – June 4, 2022

It is with profound sadness that we released Matija “Tjasek“ on Saturday June 4th into the hands of God after a lengthy and courageous battle.

He was the devoted husband and soul mate to Veronika “Vera”, loving father to Natasa (David Bonnevie), Elizabeth (Craig Warren), and Michelle (Nicholas Emond), and proud Dedek to his grandchildren Veronika, Isabelle and Keanu. He was the son of Ivan and Agata Balazic (deceased). Loving brother to Ivan (deceased) (Mary (deceased)), Tinek (deceased) (Matilda), Stevek (deceased) (Tereza), Micka (Joze Gjuran (deceased)), Agata (Joseph Casar). He will be sadly missed by his brother and sister in laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was a warm and loving man who touched many people’s lives and will be missed dearly.

Sincere thank you to all the doctors and nurses at Lakeridge Oshawa Hospital and Lakeridge Whitby Dialysis Clinic who helped to make his journey comfortable and took such wonderful care of him.

Tjasek will never be forgotten and forever in our hearts.
