Hi Joe & Penny I don't know if you remember me, but Spencer & Sarah went to Christ Church Nursery School together and were good friends at that time. Sarah still remembers having lunch at your house and Gizmo (your dog at that time) pulling off her socks under the table. I am so sorry to hear of Spencer's passing. I remember young Spencer, about grade 7 age I think, playing basketball in the DBA house league on Tuesday evenings at Dwyer. An energetic and friendly boy who got along well with his peers. I hope that you have many positive and happy memories of the good times in Spencer's life, and that these joys can remain with you forever. Life does not come with guarantees or with a simple instruction manual....it is much more complicated than that, and we have to strive to hold fast to the positives and to the good things, for it is only by doing so that we are able to endure the stormy times. We are sorry for the loss that you have suffered, and pray that you will find some solace and fortitude in family and close friends.

Joe, Penny-Claire, Tyler and Maddie-jo, It was always crazy fun having you guys as neighbors. One memory that stands out for me of Spence is the day I was at my kitchen window and Spence was outside in the driveway singing (as usual) he had on his yellow duckie boots that he wore all the time, and your van had two bumper stickers, one for chuch-e-cheese and the other one was one day at a time. Penny-Claire, Joe, Tyler, and Maddie-Jo; There are no words to express how sorry I am about the loss of Spencer. I wish there was something I could say or do to lessen the pain even a little, & I'm sure all the folks who know you & love you have the same wish. I spoke with Spencer several times when he was at Renascent and we covered quite a few topics. During our talks one of the messages that came through very clearly was Spence's love for his family; you meant everything to him. We all seem to have some trouble expressing how we feel to our family members, but I can say for certain Spence's heart was full of love for all of you. My thoughts and prayers are with you as we all gather together to send Spence off on the next phase of his journey.....

I can't express to your family the profound grief I feel for the passing of Spencer. He was a great friend to my son Evan, and a joy to myself and my daughter Alexs. During his high school years, he and Evan spend many wonderful hours together, as he did with Alexs Evan and I in our home. He had a infectious smile, and was there to lend a helping hand.
