Obituary of Maggie McAuley

August 30th, 1928 ~ October 25th, 2014

Our Maggie (Peggy) passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, on Saturday October 25, 2014, after she silently endured her battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her husband James McAuley in 2000, her parents Mary and John Charles Sim and her great grandson Ryan. Dear mother to David (Louise) of Calgary, Alberta and James (Etta) of Irondale, Ontario. Much loved grandmother to Tara, Tanya (Marcel), Sean, Kelly (Steve), William (Katharine), and Shannon (Harald). Wonderful great grandmother to Jaime, Jordan, Taylor, Cassidy, Amy, Liam, Hayden, Kody, Paul, Ryan and Henry. Long standing member of the Women’s Auxiliary Branch II Legion, Dawes Rd, Toronto. She was a dedicated volunteer at the True Davidson Home in Toronto for over 38 years. All her working life was spent with National Trust. Maggie was a very kind, loving and sweet lady who will be missed by her family and friends in Canada, Ireland, and Germany. Maggie’s family wish to thank all who visited and cared for Maggie during her last days. Visitation will be held at the DeStefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa (south side of Taunton Road, east of Thornton Road)905-440-3595 on Tuesday, October 28th from 10:00-11:00am. A service to celebrate Maggie’s life will be held in the DeStefano Chapel at 11:00am. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation, as per Maggie’s request.
