After a lengthy fight with declining health over the past four years, Benito passed away peacefully on Sunday September 2nd, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at Extendicare Oshawa. He was the beloved husband of Rosa (43 years), loving father of David Duiella (Alicia), Debra Conforti (Frank), GianLuigi Duiella, and cherished nonno of Julia, Jacob, and Jason Duiella and Christina and Stephanie Conforti, brother of Anita Sabadin and Dora Sbruzzi and pre-deceased by siblings Maria Attard, Simone Duiella and Antonio Duiella. Benito was born in Zara, Italy in December 1936 and immigrated to Canada on May 8th, 1958. He was a business man who dedicated his career to his insurance brokerage. Benito was a simple man who cherished the little things in life. He had a passion and talent for soccer, an appreciation for homemade wine and traditional food, an eagerness for life long learning and most of all a deep love for his immediate family. He will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends. Visitation will be held at the DeStefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa (south side of Taunton Road, east of Thornton Road by the Oshawa Airport) 905-440-3595 on Thursday, September 6th from 7:00-9:00 pm and on Friday September 7th from 10:00-11:00 am. A Funeral Service will follow directly after at 11:00 am in the DeStefano Chapel. In memory of Benito, donations may be made to the Oshawa Kicks Soccer Club, and can be made through the funeral home.
