Obituary of Abram Mansikka
On April 10th, 2020, Abram Vilho Mansikka passed away suddenly in his home at the age of 21. Abram was proudly born in Sudbury, Ontario and then moved to Oshawa before the age of one. He was shocked at the age of two when his twin sisters arrived, yet they quickly became playmates and best friends. Best known as Abe, he grew up happy and loved by family and friends. Abe was always full of energy and ready for any adventure. He enjoyed camping, skiing, dirt biking, and exploring. Abe was a self-taught guitar player and would spend hours practicing riffs. He would always play for his family and then insist we guess the song he was playing. He was attending UOIT enrolled in the Software Engineering Program. He had secured an internship at Ontario Power Generation and was working for the past 5 months. Abe lived a life full of love. He was well respected and had many, many friends. He was easy going, kind, and was a light that touched many lives. His infectious smile and contagious laugh will live on with us all. Abram will be forever in the hearts of his mom Leah (Hywarren) Mansikka and his dad Patrick Mansikka. He is greatly missed by his sisters, Hanna Mansikka and Meghan Mansikka. He was the joy and help for all of his grandparents, Helen and Ernie Hywarren, Eero and Judy Mansikka, and Maija Frantel. His aunts and uncles, Lora and Toyin Ogunyemi and Maritta and Dillion Pulle are grieving beyond words the loss of their nephew. Abe dared to be Extraordinary, and was loved by all. A brief viewing for family only will be held on Thursday, April 16th, 2020 at the DeStefano Funeral Home followed by a graveside burial service. There will be a video posted of the viewing on their website after the funeral for those who wish to say goodbye.
