Obituary of Joanne Shelley

Suddenly passed away, after a brief illness, at Mount Sinai Hospital, on Tuesday January 28, 2014. Joanne "Jo" of Toronto, and formerly of Windsor, much loved mother of Rhea Hewson, Jerrold (Marta) Hewson, and Deanna Hewson. Affectionately known as "Ma" by her adoring grandchildren; Jory (Rebecca) Hewson, Casandra Chayer, Joel & Tyler Scott, Christopher & Jack Hewson, and great-ma of Austin Good and Anna Hewson. Joanne had a determined spirit and an incredible heart for her family, especially her grandchildren, and loved to laugh. She had a great love for, music, the theatre, sports, writing, and collections of all kinds, particularly her salt & pepper shaker collection. Visitation will be held at the De Stefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa(south side of Taunton Road, east of Thornton Road)905-440-3595 on Friday, January 31st from 7-9pm. A Service to Celebrate Joanne's life will be held in the DeStefano Chapel on Saturday, February 1st at 11am. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Ontario Lung Association or to the Salvation Army. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.destefanofuneralhomes.ca
