Welcome to DeStefano Funeral Home
Announcement: Covid 19 Virus and its impact on our Funeral Services.
With the rapid developments and changes we are experiencing as a result of the Covid-19 Virus, we are and will continue to review and update our policies and procedures with respect to how funeral services are provided to our community.
We will base our guidelines on provincial public health notices and requirements along with direction from the Bereavement Authority of Ontario. At the forefront of our policies will be addressing public health concerns. At this point in time, social distancing is a key government strategy to combat transmission of the virus. If you are experiencing cold, flu, fever, coughing or are not feeling well we ask that you not attend a funeral service or visitation. If attending, please refrain from activities such as handshaking and hugging, and maintain a safe distance from fellow mourners.
We have stepped up our disinfecting of common areas. It is difficult to guarantee a completely safe environment but we will do our utmost to provide a sterile location for visitors. Hand sanitizer stations will be available at our entrance as supplies are available. We recommend visitors also bring their own personal supply.
With respect to managing the size of gatherings at our funeral home we recommend the following. If you have compromised health, are above the age of 70 or are not a close family member or friend, we suggest you do not attend the service. Please use our website’s obituary page to leave condolences. The family of the deceased will understand your decision not to attend the service. At DeStefano Funeral Home visitations and services in our can be live streamed, allowing guests who cannot attend to watch live. Please let us know if you wish this service and we will be happy to accommodate your request.
This is a trying time for many in our community and we will do our utmost to ensure families have the ability to say their farewells in a meaningful manner, while striving to minimize the transmission of this virus.
Changes are occurring rapidly and we will keep you up to date as our policies and guidelines evolve. If you have specific questions, please contact us.

I just wanted to thank you for the way that you looked after our families and friends while Dad was with you. The atmosphere of your funeral home made all of us very welcome and comfortable. My husband and I were recommending your services to different people we ran into while we were here in Ontario. Thanks again for making a difficult time very meaningful. -The Aubie Family (Family of the late James Ashley)
I just wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank you for the wonderful way in which you helped my mother and us through the past couple of weeks with Jim Ashley's death. We have only high praise for the beautiful facility and the caring and compassionate way in which we were guided through the whole process. You made a very difficult time much easier...there are no words to adequately convey our appreciation. -The Brandl Family (Family of the late James Ashley)
