Obituary of Annette LeBlanc

Annette LeBlanc passed away while surrounded by family at Sunnybrook Hospital on August 31st at 2:45pm.She fought a long courageous 40+ year battle with cancer. Despite the challenges before her, she lived each day to the fullest. 

She is survived by her loving husband Robert LeBlanc, to whom she was married to for 64 years, her 3 children Susan, (Brian), David (Mary) and Carol (Brett), her 14 grandchildren, great granddaughter and her sister Linda.

Annette  graduated from the University of Ottawa Teachers College at a young age. She taught with the Durham Catholic District School Board where she found her calling working with children. Annette retired in 1995 with 32 years of service.

Annette  impacted the lives of everyone she met,  with her huge welcoming heart and infectious smile. She was a role model to many. Always looking at the glass half full. She was known for putting others before herself. Annette's life revolved around spending time with family, friends, going to the cottage, shopping, baking, sewing, gardening and playing cards.

Visitation will be held at the DeStefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive in Oshawa on Friday September 8th from 6:00 to 8:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday September 9th at Paroisse Assomption de Notre Dame Church in Oshawa at 12:00pm. Burial will follow with a celebration of life in her home town of Penetanguishene at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Hearth Place Cancer Support Centre in Oshawa, or the Canadian Cancer Society.
