HEATHER JEAN VANDERZWET (nee Cooling)
February 1, 1954 - May 26, 2019

Sadly,  Heather passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 26, 2019. She had lived with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) for three years with Dignity,
Grace and Humour.

Mourning her loss is her beloved Husband Harry who
supported and loved her through her journey with ALS.  Predeceased by her
mother Marion Cooling, her father Royce Cooling, her grandparents Scott and
Mable Cooling and grandparents McCormack.  She is survived by her brother
Kevin Cooling, her step mother Ethel, Brother-in-law Brian Vanderzwet (Adrienne), John Vanderzwet (Kelly), Doug Lay (Marion deceased), Rick Spicer(Susan deceased) (Marilyn), Sister-in-law Colleen (Trevor).  Loving aunt to her God-daughter Rita Vanderzwet (Mike), Gina Jones (Derek), Katie and Rebecca Vanderzwet, her nephews Chris Lay (Kim), Adam Lay, Gerry Spicer (Marina).  She will be remembered by many aunts and uncles, cousins and friends.  She will be especially missed by her aunt Betty who she often visited in New Brunswick and travelled with her.

Heather was all about family.  You could always count on her to be at any family functions whether near or far.   She was generous to a fault with family and friends.  She nursed at what is now known as Whitby Shores until her retirement and will be missed by her colleagues.  Her other love was dogs and horses. For many years she and Harry travelled across the United States and Canada to field trials with the dogs and horses.   She and Harry also showed dogs and won Dog of the year for North America with Stormcrow in Dixeland.  Sassy, Heather's canine friend will miss his Mom.
