Obituary of Jean Hosking

Hosking, Jean Madeliene

May 7, 1932 – February 28, 2021

The world has lost a beautiful soul as we sadly announce the passing of.the matriarch of our family. 

Jean was the beloved wife of the late Ken Hosking, cherished mother of Ken (Janet), David (Donna) and predeceased by Corry and Steven (Jackie).  She was the very proud grandmother of Sean (Jennifer), Jeremy (Zoe), Connie and Lynsey (Ryan) and adoring great grandmother of Evelyn, Dashiell and Addysen.  Predeceased by sister Doreen Lynchock (Red) and survived by sisters Carol Clancy (Jim), Jackie Ruggeri (Joe) and brother Ted (Theresa).

A lifelong resident of Oshawa, Jean’s talents included being a seamstress; always ready to recover furniture, make clothing alterations and personalize embroidery for family and friends.  A wedding gown, dresses, bedding and housecoats are family treasures.  Her grandchildren always asked for her maple walnut cake for special occasions, holidays and birthdays.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the DeStefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive Oshawa (905) 440 3595 on Sunday, March 14.  Due to COVID-19 regulations capacity of a maximum of 50 people, the times will be from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. OR 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
