I am so sorry to hear of William's passing. I met William while he was living on WillowWay and sat next to my father, Alan Dickson, in the dining room. He moved to another wing but I always stopped to talk to him whenever I saw him in the hallways. He will be greatly missed, I am so sorry for your loss!

My deepest sympathies are with the Ducey family at this time . I met William as a weekly friendly visitor through Durham Community Care . I enjoyed sharing coffees, Tim Bits and stories with William . Covid robbed me of the opportunity to visit over the last many months . I will remember my time with William fondly and hope he is at peace . May all the good memories of William bring you comfort at this time . Marc Guertin

Words can’t express how much I miss you! Your time on earth was too short my friend. I have so many memories of Bill, even dating back to our “Williams days”. When Covid hit, Bill and I had the opportunity to spend lots of time together and for that I am grateful. I’ll miss our chats and laughs, and most of all his beautiful smile. At one point Bill said to me “I’m lucky to have you” but in reality it was the other way around, I was lucky to have him. Bill made my days at Hillsdale something to look forward to and I’m going to miss seeing him every day. I love you Bill, Your forever friend, Laura

I served you and your friends many cups of coffee when you were in your teens. You were a great bunch of young people and I’m sure you impacted many through the years that followed. Deepest condolences to your family on a heartbreaking loss!

Sorry I wasn’t there for his last days . In a way a blessing , as I would like to remember him the way he was , laughing at my corny jokes and rolling his eyes while I sang phantom of the opera , or changing the words to songs to go with the day we were having :) Will you did not deserve what was handed to you , but you took it with stride and still managed to crack a smile. I hope you find eternal peace and are playing guitar and singing wherever you are Penny McCarthy RPN

Thank you Penny. Yes it was very unfair for William so young dealing with his MS. William survived Covid and the lock down etc. But his body was just to weak. William called Hillsdale his second home and family. It was where he wanted to be. love you all and miss you all. Stay safe to.

William struggled with his MS. Although he would not show it because he did not want people to pity him. William wanted to live the best life he could and there was no time to waste to feel sorry for himself. He did cried, was angry, wondered why him? But he wanted people to be around and tell him a joke or story and to be happy. William and us researched, attended MS meeting, traveled thro Canada and the USA for answers and cures. Seen so many specialist, we could not keep count. William never gave up ever! A long his journey to find a cure. William made friends, laughed, and that incredible smile of his. William keep notes on his progression and tried so many different natural cures in hopes his notes could help out with future research. Meanwhile, William played his guitar and piano, sang and wrote his music to share with the world. He wrote poems and stories. Over the years Many people helped to rise funds for his CCSVI treatment and for his Aim to walk program. We thank you all for that and have not forgotten it. We also thank the caring and loving staff at Hillsdale Estate LTC for all they have done. Special thanks to the Apple Blossom unit staff. They where wonderful. I will miss William telling me every time "I love my mommy and see you later alligator ". REMEMBER HIS LAUGH, SMILE AND HOW HE CARED ABOUT HOW OTHERS. William did lots of charity and volunteer for different organizations. William has a kind and caring heart with love for all.
